Using the stones, we were to manifest the two words that represent our soul’s mission. The words my stones drew were:

Gathering Acceptance

At that moment my purpose in life became clear -- to help people transform the pain and suffering caused by lack of acceptance of self and others.

After traveling the world, working in the creative arts and in the corporate business world, I received a Master of Social Work at the Hunter College School of Social Work and a Certificate in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling at The New School University. I have advanced post-graduate training and received a Certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where I’m a training candidate in Psychoanalysis.

In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I’ve worked at financial and legal corporations, in the creative arts, at hospitals, community-based mental health and substance abuse clinics and grass roots advocacy organizations.

I am a field supervisor for graduate level Social Work students and have lead training workshops in mental health, substance abuse, disability and LGBT issues for the Latino Commission on AIDS, Administration for Children’s Services, Housing Works, the TBI Waiver Program, The National Association of Social Workers Addictions Institute, The Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups and the Alcoholism Council of New York.
