I earned my Master of Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City, and a Certificate in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling from The New School University, also in New York. I have received advanced postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis from one of the most respected programs in the country, the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. I am recognized by the state of New York as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor.
In addition to my private psychotherapy practice, I have worked at NYU Medical Center, Housing Works, the Association for the Help of Retarded Children, the International Center for the Disabled, New York City's LGBT Community Center, and Gay Men's Health Crisis. Currently I am a consulting clinical supervisor at the Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center.
I am a field supervisor for graduate-level social work students and have facilitated training workshops in mental health, substance abuse, LGBT issues, and disability for the Latino Commission on AIDS, the Administration for Children’s Services, Housing Works, the TBI Waiver Program, the NASW Addictions Institute, the Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups, and the Alcoholism Council of New York.
